Why should I choose cork?
Cork is a fascinating thing. The process to harvest cork is fully manual and happens every 9 years by extracting the cork bark from the cork oak.
We mainly find cork in Portugal and also in Spain, Italy and France. So it’s really a European product.
Moreover, enjoy the soft & warm touch, natural feel & smell of pure natural cork. Cork is also very light to carry and easy to clean.
Does cork ensure a good grip?
Cork offers something unique: when it comes into contact with moisture (water), the grip increases. In other words, the more you sweat, the better the grip!
On the other hand, if you have dry hands or feet, we don’t recommend to have a cork yoga mat. In that case, our Dolphin yoga mat might be a better solution for you.
How do I clean my cork mat?
Cork yoga mats have natural antimicrobial and antibacterial qualities. So because cork yoga mats are self cleaning, the typical mat cleaning process isn’t necessary and is quite straightforward.
If your cork yoga mat is stained or has been used up a lot in sweaty yoga sessions, you can clean your yoga mat with a cloth using 1/4 vinegar and 3/4 water, and wipe it off with a towel.
