Travel cork yoga mat – 1,6mm and foldable

Our newest yoga creation is the Travel cork yoga mat. Ideal to take with you on all your trips, as it is foldable and easy to carry.

Cork has some interesting features for your yoga practice: it’s  antimicrobial and easy to maintain (using 2/3 water and 1/3 vinegar with a cloth), it has a neutral smell and comfortable touch, and the grip gets better the more you sweat.

The travel yoga mat is recommended for beginners and experienced yogis, however not for people with painful joints because of its 1,6 mm thickness. If you desire more cushioning for your knees & joints, we recommend the thicker ‘Lion’ yoga mat or ‘Scorpion’ yoga mat.

The care instructions are as follows:

– Roll the mat with the cork on the outside (the side where our logo is)

– Do not store the mat in direct sunlight – this will bleach the mat

– Cork yoga mats have natural antimicrobial and antibacterial qualities. This means that any bacteria that makes its way onto a cork mat won’t be able to live there. Therefore, keeping them clean and in long-lasting shape is simple! So because cork yoga mats are self cleaning, the typical mat cleaning process isn’t necessary and is quite straightforward.

– If your cork yoga mat is stained or has been used up a lot in sweaty yoga sessions, you can make your own cork mat cleaning spray to give it a deep clean.

– This is best done with a cloth using 1/4 vinegar and 3/4 water, and perhaps some drops of essential oils. No chemical sprays are needed.

– Once you’ve wiped the mat clean, hang it to air dry or wipe it off with a towel. When it has dried off, roll it up with the top side (the cork side) on the outside. It’s designed to be rolled this way, as this will ensure your mat rolls out nice and flat each time you use it.
